The New Jersey Division of Highway Traffic Safety (NJDHTS) schedules voluntary child seat checkpoints throughout New Jersey. At these checkpoints, certified child passenger safety technicians will examine the child seat and ensure that it is installed correctly. Any errors in installation will be pointed out and explained to the parent or guardian.

These checkpoints are conducted free of charge and are voluntary.

In addition to scheduled checkpoints, parents and guardians can contact their county child passenger safety coordinator to arrange for a private inspection of their child seat.
